All humans make by hand.
Every day in the past the ancients made by hand..
We see the evidence of this in museums and in
photos of their efforts at weapons, harvesting, and hunting tools.
Same brain, Same hands
In my opinion there is really not much that separates early nomadic humans of 60,000 years ago from who we are today except for social society influence, technological advance and a great span of time.
We are the same people!
What our ancestors made from sharpened stones, wood and bone remains hidden in the earth or is found in archeological sites to be admired. The wooden components
of their creative expression, as tools or
art have long ago rotted back to the earth.
“For fully 99% of the time that humans have lived on Earth, we have not lived as we do today.”
Making in stone
For millions of years these people would have been making by hand, gaining evolutionary advantage as brain and skeletal structure evolved to link creative mind intimately with uniquely opposable thumb.
Thumb against fingers, thumb against fingers. I can only presume that these people would have gripped rocks and spears and hurled them at predator scavengers interested in the scraps from the firepit.
Their hands would create the same 5 jawed cradle grip to lift the rock to toss it toward the attackers. The 5 jawed cradle grip would be used to move stones in a flowing stream to stir up an edible treat. This is the grip that you use to twist a doorknob.
What do you make?
What would you have done then?
What are you doing now?
Ancient humans made by hand to survive.
Modern humans make by hand to thrive.
What would you make?
